The WTTC Summit will turn Madrid into the world's tourism capital in April
More than 1,000 industry professionals will gather at the fifth edition of the World Tourism & Travel Council (WTTC) summit, held for the first time in Spain, to discuss tourism policies, new business models and their future.
On April 15 and 16, Madrid will be the world capital of tourism and the focus of the latest trends and currents of a key sector in the economy of the capital, which will host the 15th edition of the summit of the World Tourism & Travel Council.
The meeting will be organized by the City Council and the Community of Madrid, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism and Ifema.
World Travel & Tourism Council is the most important international association of the tourism industry, composed of representatives of major companies in the sector in the world. This year's event will be held for the first time in Spain and will attract more than 1,000 experts to Madrid.
Industry leaders will discuss global growth and the characteristics of tourism in the future. They will also share their perspectives on some of the disruptive forces affecting the sector today, including geopolitical risks, climate change and technology, and how the sector can address them. The development of tourism in Spain will also be discussed, with special emphasis on Madrid as the link between Spain and the rest of the world.
