The benefits of Augmented Reality for business travelers (and II)
There are many (countless) applications that allows the Augmented Reality technology and that can bring real value in their daily use, both in the personal and professional field, especially in business travel. There is no doubt that a new world is opening up for us to discover and, as I always say, the good things are still to come.
The Instituto de Tecnologías Educativas (ITE), under the Ministry of Education, and one of our best customers since 2002, has prepared a complete report, very useful; This is a very useful report, through which we can obtain a complete and current overview of everything related to this technology, its definition, requirements and present and future utilities.

Back to the usefulness of this new technology, there are many (countless) applications that are on the horizon and that can bring real value in their daily use, within the personal and professional fields. Among all the examples that I have come across in recent months, I would like to highlight the following:

Cinema and Television: See example video

Industrial applications: See example video from BMW

Tourism: See example video applied on YouTube
And of course, and being the subject at hand: Business travel.
One of the clearest and most direct applications offered by this technology is applied to the tourism sector in general and business travel in particular. Some of the examples that have impressed me the most and that can bring a clear utility to all professional travelers:
[Word Lens]: APP that instantly translates any text captured by the webcam of our phone:

[Junaio]: APP that allows us to scan the world around us from our phone and provide us with additional useful information:

[Wikitude World Browser]: APP that allows to visualize in real time through the camera of our phone, the world around us in a different and original way, providing value, utility and above all information.

And like these, many other examples that are already available in the different existing mobile platforms and that offer us, among other possibilities: find a hotel or a nearby restaurant, real-time information about a particular place, locate a nearby stop or navigate to find the place we are looking for.
But as I always say, the good things are yet to come, there are many ideas, now, you have to risk and develop them, imagine the utility that would bring us a system that would guide us when we are lost in the terminal of an unknown airport; or if we could locate an object, person or place within the scope of our organization, previously configured within the system; or the possibility of being able to show our products in a much more visual and interactive way in meetings with investors and strategic clients; or for example, to hold virtual conferences from different geographical points; to alert us of possible risk areas and dangers that we may encounter; and so on; and countless other examples.
?What? the future holds, “three different visions, a único objective”,… next I show you three different examples of the same future, not too far away, where Augmented Reality and the use of new interfaces for access to information, more ás ú useful and close, improve á
Accessing the user experience in almost all everyday situations of our daily lives, at home, at work, when traveling, or simply when we walk down the street, go shopping, while having breakfast, when waking up and before going to sleep:

What is clear to me is that a whole new world is opening up for us to discover. And once again, we are in a sector where the application of this type of technology is much more evident, strongly supported by companies in the ICT sector that are committed to its development, which ensures us a solid long-term future.
For my part, this is as far as today's topic goes. In two weeks we will meet again with a new (and interesting) topic, where we will discover the incipient world of Social Networks for Business Travelers.
