The average event manager profile in Spain has a very strong female presence
80.4% of Event Managers in Spain are women, with a predominant age between 40 and 49 years old, according to a study by the Event Managers Association, supported by Catalunya Convention Bureau and Intel·litur. In addition, they have been working for around 10 years, 95.1% have a university degree and 52% have taken specialization courses.

There is a strong female presence in the industry, backed by solid academic training and work experience. Event managers, with an average of 10 years in the industry, play a crucial role in mostly large companies. 79.3% say they are satisfied or very satisfied with their job.
25% of the companies in which they work belong to the pharmaceutical industry, being mostly large companies with 250 employees or more (76%).
The events area has an average of 3 people and depends on different departments, mostly Marketing. The 69% have additional responsibilities to the organization of events, and the main KPI to evaluate the result of the event is the satisfaction of the attendees.
The study highlights a significant fact: 64.2% of the events are organized directly by the event manager, while 35.8% use agencies/suppliers for the execution of the same.
It also reveals that hotels are the top event venue of choice, followed closely by venues.
As for the Event Managers Association, 81.7% of respondents understand the value of the EMA to the event manager, and 85.3% perceive it as a close association. In addition, 92.7% understand the work of the EMA in promoting the professionalization of the Event Manager.
