Segittur and Amadeus Spain to work on a multimodality pilot project
The Sociedad Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovaón y las Tecnologóas Turísticas (Segittur) and Amadeus España have signed a collaboration agreement to promote technological innovation in the tourism sector, which includes a pilot project on multimodality for transport.
The agreement has been signed by the president of Segittur, Antonio López de Ávila and the general director of Amadeus España, Fernando Cuesta, as well as the financial director of this company, Enrique González.
The document foresees that both entities will study the realization of a pilot project of multimodality in the field of travel and tourism in Spain, a program of support for entrepreneurs in this sector and, finally, a project of innovation study in the travel agency sector.
Both organizations will also develop joint research and knowledge transfer projects related to the tourism sector.
According to the president of Segittur, this agreement represents the formalization of the work proposals made in the last year in such a way that some objectives and an action program are specified. I consider the multimodality pilot project to be particularly relevant, since it will be a pioneering experience in the world and, in addition, it will be developed by two Spanish companies.
For Fernando Cuesta, general manager of Amadeus Spain, the signing of this document "makes explicit the will of Amadeus to continue supporting the entire sector as a whole in terms of innovation and co-creation. In this sense, Segittur is a key partner to boost and provide the maximum scope to our research and development power, and to our leadership as an engine of transformation of the travel industry.
