One in four workers have reduced their meals at the office to eat lunch at home.
Despite the fact that the country is approaching normality, the return to the office will continue to affect urban transport and hospitality. According to a study by Infojobs, one in four workers have reduced their meals at work to have lunch at home, with the collateral impact that this change of habit implies.
In fact, only 12% of these professionals have changed the office for bars and restaurants nbsp;close to the workplace. In any case, it is true that 71% of employees indicate that, when they go to the office, they eat there with the same frequency as before the pandemic.Only 3% 3% of professionals say that they eat lunch in their workspace with greater assiduity than in the pre-covid stage.
“In the últimos months, the hotel ía has managed to recover much of the gap that existed ía in relation to vacancies recorded before the pandemic”, señala Mónica Pérez, director of Communication ón and Studies of InfoJobs. “Although it is still too early to draw conclusions, it is to be expected that this change of habits will affect hiring, due to the drop in sales, and that this will not recover at the same rate as in other sectors,”, añade.
Similarly, the report's findings point to the fact that 68% of workers currently commute by own vehicle to their place of work. In this respect, there are no major changes compared to before the pandemic. Nine out of ten employees say that their commute has not changed.
However, it is significant that those who used to travel by public transport are the ones who have changed their routines the most: 32% will travel by private vehicle and 21% will walk. It is to be assumed, therefore, that this change of routine will have an impact on the use of public transport, as well as on the increase of traffic jams and pollution.
