Iryo joins the train liberation with a diversified service offering
Starting next November 25, the company Iryo will begin commercial services with a first connection between Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona. This private rail operator, owned by the shareholders of Air Nostrum and Trenitalia, has also announced that in the coming months it will add Valencia, Alicante, Cuenca, Seville, Málaga and Córdoba.
In the initial phase of its implementation in Spain, Iryo has scheduled 32 daily trains on the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona route. In a second stage, which will begin on December 16, operations will start between Madrid,Valencia and Cuenca.
In addition, during the first quarter of 2023, the connection with the south will be added to the cities of Sevilla, Málaga y Córdoba, and in June Alicante and Albacete will be added to its program.
The operator starts the commercial service with a fleet consisting of twenty units of the ETR 1000 model, the Italian Frecciarossa, manufactured by Hitachi Rail and Alstom in factories in Italy and Spain.
This is a range of latest-generation electric trains, which reach a maximum speed of 360 km/h, and are made from 95 percent recyclable materials. In addition, they limit carbon dioxide emissions per passenger-kilometer to 28 grams.
Each train has eight cars, 465 seats plus two seats for passengers with reduced mobility and extra spaces for wheelchairs. They all have the same upholstery with brown-toned leather seats, their own armrests, standard and USB sockets, the possibility of connection to the latest-generation 5G internet and free access to a content platform to be unveiled in October.
Iryo has designed a travel concept with four classes and a differentiating gastronomic offer. Thus, travelers can choose between the zones Infinita, Singular Café, Singular and Inicial. In all of them, the restauración has a weight of great relevance.
The restaurant will offerá elaborations of seasonal product and healthy options, first brands of drinks and selected wine list that will be changing in collaboration with Spanish appellations of origin.
In the Infinite class, located in cars 1 and 2, all premium services are included, with great comfort seats and high quality gastronomy with the Haizea Bistró menu, which gives the option to choose from several options.
Passengers also have at their disposal the class Singular Caf , which is born from Iryo's alliance with Only You Hotels. This travel option is available in cars 3, 4 and 5 and among its main features are the space for team or individual work, comfortable seating, access to exclusive spaces in Only You hotels and a Haizea Mercado menu of traditional cuisine. The space called Singular’ is the class designed for the business traveler, together with Singular Café, and includes the same gastronomic proposal.
The company's offer is completed with the class Initial, in cars 6, 7 and 8, for a more economical trip,
In addition, Iryo has signed an alliance with Travel Club to provide access to the loyalty program Yo, with points convertible to other companies and offering, among its benefits, access to VIP and work rooms at Only You hotels.
The operator will offerá combined travel tickets and free access to trains of Cercanías in their cities of origin and destination to boost integrated mobility. In addition, it has signed a code-sharing agreement with Air Europa to provide train and airline combinations.
