IBTM presents an ambitious training program during the three days of the show

IBTM World has announced the first details of its training program for the show that will take place at Fira Barcelona from November 29 to December 1. With a revamped format, featuring three keynote lectures, this year's agenda is carefully designed to address the main challenges facing the MICE industry.

In partnership with ACS, IBTM World's knowledge program will focus on the central theme of the 2022 edition, "Creating culture", as the events world adapts to a more disparate post-pandemic work environment, and will include a wide range of sessions.

One of the keynote speakers will be Anick Beaulieu, VP Growth and Partnerships at C2, one of the world's most innovative business events. Anick and entrepreneur and activist Igor Beuker will discuss how business entertainment can shape culture, using the C2 Montreal event as a success story.

Another keynote address will be given by Gareth Kelly, Senior Director and Head of Strategic Events EMEA at Salesforce. Gareth will explore how the company uses its motivational events to generate better business results and create meaningful cultural experiences among attendees.

The third day will feature a keynote address by Igor Beuker. Known for his predictions on trends and technologies impacting business, the economy and society, the speaker will inspire the audience with his radical vision and imaginative ideas. He will also share his strategic analysis of the MICE industry with a view to 2030.

Another keynote speaker at the show will be Despoina Zachariadou, Lead UX Designer – Creative Technologist VR/AR at Jack Morton Worldwide. Despoina will proposeá a journey from storytelling to experience and explainá how the metaverse is shaping communication, behaviors and communities, as wellá as its implications for the future of events.

According to David Thompson, Event Director of IBTM World, “the knowledge program is the place to be inspired by the best experts in our industry and beyond, all under one roof. We have assembled an incredible calendar of new voices to offer other perspectives, interesting solutions and thought-provoking concepts.

IBTM ACCELERATE

In addition to these keynotes, the Barcelona event will host a full agenda of sessions in the so-called IBTM Accelerate, which returns this year to help answer organizers' questions about the future of the events industry.

In its 2022 edition, the forum features Tech for Good, with three days of content that seeks to assess where the industry is now, what it sees in the near future and what's next in the world of technology, both inside and outside the MICE sector.

With a combination of interviews, workshops, master classes, panel discussions and interactive formats, Accelerate will analyze everything from gamification, to the metaverse or augmented reality, without forgetting the new values related to sustainability.

Speakers include the creative director of Chorus, the influential Grant Dudson, who has become one of the most innovative voices in the world of corporate events.

Several sessions will also reveal the latest market trends, including the Global Meetings & Events Trends’ report presented by American Express M&E. Meanwhile, the annual report ‘IBTM World Trends Watch’, presented by its author, Alistair Turner, Managing Director of Eight PR, explores how current world events are shaping culture by influencing the people who attend them.

On the day before the fair, November 28, will take place in different locations in Barcelona The Association Leaders’ Forum, curated by Stylianos Filopoulos, and The Corporate Experiences Day. The latter is designed to provide buyers with an interactive look at the latest technological and sustainability developments within the events industry.
