IBTM 2023 to focus on new approaches to event organization
IBTM World 2023 will be held from November 28-30 at Fira Barcelona with new approaches to respond to event professionals who opened a different era after the effects of the pandemic. The educational program also reflects the consequences of a review of face-to-face and hybrid events. This year's visitors will find five distinct areas to address these topics.
The Impact Stage will make its debut this year and act as the best showcase for the work that destinations, hotels and technology providers are doing in sustainability, D&I, experience design and more.
The destination sessions will be curated by The Business Of Events, the global think tank and policy platform for the business events industry, and will also include the launch of the annual Global Destination Report.
Sessions will be fast-paced and value-based, lasting no more than 20 minutes and presented in the form of case studies and best practices, allowing Hosted Buyers to get maximum value between meetings.Another new feature this year is Workplace Revolution: a welcoming space where attendees can make valuable connections they weren't expecting. Here they can continue conversations in a relaxed atmosphere with inspirational figures (including speakers from the main stage), discuss topics in greater detail and ask burning questions. With comfortable seating and an informal atmosphere, it's the place for people to laugh and enjoy key aspects of business culture that are often lost with the rise of working from home.
The IBTM wellness center has changed its name to ReFuel, a zen-like room that gives attendees time and space to relax and recharge their physical and mental batteries. It includes a wellness bar, sound healing and aromatherapy, as well as a solo work area to provide a respite from a busy showroom.
For its part, the Association Leaders Forum (ALF) will return on day one to help associations increase the impact of their meetings worldwide and overcome challenges to achieve success in 2024 and beyond.
The main stage will continue to host the IBTM World Programme featuring inspirational figures from inside and outside the events industry, who take to the stage to address the latest topics and trends through inspirational keynotes, panel discussions and groundbreaking research.
New to the main stage this year will be an evening of inspirational marketing content selected in partnership with experts from The Thought Partnership, who have led content and marketing at companies such as Cannes Lions and Dow Jones.
As for invited buyers, major international associations have already confirmed their attendance, including the European Society of Cardiology, the International Association of Business Information Systems, the United Networks of International Event Organizers (UNICEO), the World Energy Council and the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce. Multinational corporations include DELL Tech; Forbes; Intel; Michelin; Delta Air Lines, Sportradar, Puma Sports, Citigroup Inc, Amex GBT, Aareal Bank AG and Zalando
