France's Ouigo opens up competition in low-cost high-speed trains

The French operator SNCF will enter the Spanish market after the long-awaited liberalization of the railway market through its brand Ouigo, a direct competition to Renfe's monopoly on high-speed lines and in the low-cost segment. The company plans to launch trains between Madrid and Barcelona in March next year.
