Fitur bets strongly on travel and on-site attendance by maintaining the 2022 edition

Ifema Madrid is once again betting on the celebration of Fitur from January 19 to 23, which will be decisive in generating confidence in the market, boosting the travel sector and demonstrating the importance of business tourism. The organization will reinforce sanitary controls and will take all the necessary measures to guarantee the development of the fair.

The fair will bring together a total of 6.933 participants with the presence of all the Autonomous Communities, of companies and destinations of 107 countries, 70 of them with official international representation, led by Dominican Republic, which this year participates as Fitur 2022 Partner Country.

The 42nd edition takes a step forward aware of the need for tourism activity to regain its leadership as lever of economic and social development, in a context key recovery n n worldwide after the pandemic.

The high national and international representation in this edition will place the fair at parán very close to those reached before the pandemic.

Eight pavilions will be occupied (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10), with a net surface area of 56,700 m2.In total, FITUR will bring together 600 exhibitors.

In addition, Fitur is continuing its hybridization formula that complements in-person participation by destinations and companies with a digital platform, Live Connect, which will be operational from December 20 to February 4.

As every year at the fair will have a prominent role the aspects referred to the innovation, the technology and the digital transformation, as well as issues related to sustainable development and accessibility.

All the verticals will again be represented in the different sections, spaces and forums of this edition, which will be a novelty Fitur Cruises, which in this first edition will be held only on Saturday.

In addition, the fair will feature its usual sections: FiturTech, organized in collaboration with the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH); Fitur Know How & Export, organized by Segittur and with the collaboration of ICEX; Fitur MICE; Fitur Screen, co-organized with Spain Film Commission; Fitur LGBT+, this year under the slogan “For an inclusive tourism“; Fitur Talent; and Fitur Woman, organized with the collaboration of Women Leading Tourism (WLT); and Fitur Lingua, focused on Language Tourism.

Travel Technology concentrate  another good part of the  specialized technological offer at the service of the tourism company, with the últimas solutions, developments and tools that markán new trends for the future. The Fitur Next observatory will also take place, dedicated to promoting good tourism practices in terms of sustainability.

SAFETY PROTOCOL

To guarantee the normal celebration of Fitur, Ifema Madrid will reinforce health controls and take all security measures to the extreme. In this sense, and in a context marked by the high levels of vaccination registered in Spain, all participants will be required to present at least one of the following requirements: EU Covid Digital Certificate; QR Spain Travel Health; Negative PCR or Antígenos test performed within 24 hours prior to their first access.

Third country nationals not attached to this certificate will be requiredá the same requirement that España demands to access the country and that allows them to obtain the QR Spain Travel Health.

As was already done in the 2021 edition, capacity control will be carried out in all pavilions, with automated people counting systems, and with an intelligent digital system for the analysis of spaces, capacity and attendee behavior. In addition, the use of FFP2 masks will be required.

Strict protocols will also be applied in the area of catering, with a wide deployment of spaces designed for this purpose outside the venue.
