Fira Barcelona, best convention center in Spain at the World MICE Awards 2025
Fira Barcelona has been distinguished as the Best Convention Center in Spain 2025 at the latest edition of the World MICE Awards, whose awards gala was recently held in Baré in. The recognition reinforces the position of the Barcelona-based trade fair institution as one of the main benchmarks for meetings and events tourism in southern Europe.
The award to Fira Barcelona is part of an edition that has once again focused on the excellence of the MICE ecosystem on a global scale, with awards for destinations, venues, hotels, organizers and major trade fair infrastructures on all continents.
In the international arena, the Dubai World Trade Centre was recognized as Best Convention Center in the World and Best Professional Exhibition Organizer, while Exhibition World Bahrain received the Best MICE Venue in the World award, consolidating its role as a benchmark infrastructure in the Middle East. For its part, Vietravel was distinguished as Best MICE Organizer in the World, and IMEX Frankfurt was recognized as Best MICE Fair in the World.
In the hotel segment, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts was named Best MICE Hotel Brand in the World, while Atlantis, The Palm received the award for Best Incentive Hotel in the World. Recognition for new developments went to Princess Grand Jamaica, distinguished as Best New MICE Hotel in the World. In the field of corporate retreats, Hoi An (Vietnam) was recognized as Best Corporate Retreat Destination in the World, and Hotel de la Ville as Best Corporate Retreat Hotel in Europe.
As for destinations, the World's Best Incentive Destination went to Amsterdam, while Dubaí was named Best MICE Destination. Lisbon was chosen Best MICE Destination in Europe 2025, reinforcing its position as one of the continent's most competitive hubs for congresses and professional events.
Spainalso adds the recognition to the Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona as Best MICE Hotel in the country, while Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Resort won the distinction as Best Incentive Hotel and Cititravel stood out as Best MICE Organizer.
Other award-winning venues and destinations included the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Thailand, the Tokyo International Forum in Japan or Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, among others.
The World MICE Awards, considered one of the main recognition programs for the meetings, incentives, congresses and exhibitions sector, annually reward the most outstanding players in the industry based on a voting process involving industry professionals and the specialized public.
With this recognition, Fira Barcelona consolidates its role as a key infrastructure for meetings tourism in Spain and Europe, in a context of recovery and sustained growth of the MICE segment at international level.
