FBT launches the first official degree in business travel in collaboration with UNED and MPI Spain
The public university UNED, the training company Forum Business Travel and the association of event professionals Meeting Professionals International (MPI Spain) have signed an agreement for the development of the professional expert course in management of business travel and international events.
This course has a markedly practical nature because the discipline it covers is undergoing a profound change. The current economic situation and new technologies have a direct impact on the evolution and development of this sector where its professionals come from diverse academic degrees and professional experiences.
This degree covers a training need that does not currently exist and offers professionals the opportunity to acquire specific knowledge in the segment of business travel and corporate events, all under an international scope.
The agreement signed by the three entities mentioned above will cover the title Training in Business Travel and International Events. Thanks to the UNED, this degree will have a recognition of 20 ETCS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) corresponding to 500 teaching hours. This course follows a teaching methodology that the UNED is characterized by and has been a pioneer in, allowing the geographical flexibility of students.
The teaching of this degree will start in December 2012 and will conclude in July 2013, its training program will be composed of five modules that will cover the key subjects of business travel and events.
The enrollment fee will be managed by the UNED Foundation starting in September and may be financed through the funds of the Tripartite Foundation or the UNED's own scholarships. The tuition fee includes a one-year free subscription to the Spanish chapter of Meeting Professionals International under the student mode.
