Corporate cab trips grow by 16% each week
With the easing of restrictions and the return to the office, mobility figures are soaring. Since the beginning of 2022 corporate cab commuting is seeing average week-on-week growth of 16%, according to data from Free Now for Business. During February, 46% more business trips were made than in the previous month, a trend that continued in March, with a similar increase.
Compared with data from 2021, in January 2022 there were 55% more business trips
in comparison to 2021;and in February this increase was up to 84% when compared to the same month last year.By ámbitos geogr Madrid acutes 59% of all corporate trips, followed by Barcelona, with 29% of trips; and Valencia in third place, with 9%.
Isabel García Frontera, general manager of Free Now España, noted that “the return to the office, face-to-face meetings and business travel is influencing the week-on-week increase in corporate travel. Although we are not at pre-pandemic levels, the business world is starting to recover and resume its usual activity”.
47% of organizations have a mobility budget which is presented as an alternative to the corporate car and can be used for business or private travel. In this regard, 45% of those that currently offer company cars say they would replace them with a mobility budget.
Employees increasingly reflect their preference for more sustainable micromobility options. Although 63% of business commuters use their private or company car to get to work, 31% of them would like to use electric bicycles or bicycles, 9% motorcycles and 6% scooters or electric scooters.
