Travel Advisors Forest is born with 800 trees in the province of Malaga
With the aim of continuing to implement and develop sustainability projects, Travel Advisors Guild (TAG) has started the year with the creation of its own forest. The TAG forest has a planting area of 1.1 hectares, and is located in Alozaina, a municipality in the province of Málaga located next to the Sierra de las Nieves National Park.

On January 13, part of the steering committee of the Travel Advisors Guild had the experience of participating in the planting of the first trees, with the help of the Folia Project, a team of professionals dedicated to the development of CO2 absorption projects through the reforestation of trees with species that absorb CO2;Folia Project, a team of professionals dedicated to the development of CO2 absorption projects through reforestation with native species in Spain.
The TAG forest has a planting area of 1.1 hectares, and is located in Alozaina, a municipality in the province of Málaga located next to the Sierra de las Nieves National Park, a place of high ecological value and where some of the last stands of Spanish fir are sheltered.
The contribution of the 800 trees by the associates of Travel Advisors Guild and its Community, allows to increase the natural heritage and the forest area of the area, reducing the risk of desertification and mitigating the effects of climate change.
The selected plants are native species:
Pinus pinea, Pinus halepensis, Ceratonia siliqua and Quercus ilex. All of them come from official nurseries and are easily adapted to the planting site, considering the current climate change scenario that forecasts increasingly severe droughts. It is estimated that these trees will absorb 244,000 kg of CO2 during their first 50 years of life. They also process odors and pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulfur dioxide and ozone.
According to TAG's current president, Leixuri Vilar, “without a doubt this new project is a great way to leave a positive footprint for people and our planet”.
