World ranking of five-star hotels by prices
Barcelona consolidates its position at the top of the ranking among European cities with the highest average prices paid in five-star hotels, with an average of 282 euros per night and room, according to the latest Hotel Price Index of Hoteles.com. In contrast, Madrid is among the ten with the lowest rate, with an average of 211 euros.
The study has analyzed the average price paid in euros by travelers in the Eurozone
for hotel rooms of different categories as in the most important cities in the world, during the first half of 2015. The aim of this report is to help consumers get the most out of their travel budget, as it can mean substantial savings.
According to the study, there is a difference of ?496 between the highest and lowest price paid for a night's accommodation in a five-star hotel. With the fall in the value of the euro against the dollar, San Francisco topped the list, with an average of 600 euros per night per room, followed by Los Angeles, with 509 euros. New York, meanwhile, recorded an average price of 359 euros. Cities like Tokyo, with 384 euros; Milan, with 430; or Canc with 447; have managed to surpass the city of skyscrapers this first half of the year.
During the first half of 2015, Warsaw offered, once again, the lowest average for staying in a five-star hotel, with a total of 104 euros, followed by Pisa, with 143 euros, and Tallinn, with 144. With this difference in rates in five-star hotels, it would have been possible to enjoy 6 nights of luxury in the Polish capital as opposed to just one in San Francisco.
