Halcón wins state travel mega-contract
Ministries, government agencies and civil servants. The entire Spanish state travels with Halcón Viajes after the retailer del Grupo Globalia has been awarded the tender to manage the travel and hotel reservations of the Spanish public administration for the next three years.
The tender, announced last November and to which the main tourism and transport companies in the country presented themselves, contemplates a budget of around 70 million euros per year.
The resolution of the Ministry of Economy a, is awarded to Halc n Viajes as the successful bidder of the four lots foreseen in the tender. The first of these, for 26 million euros per year, includes the Ministries of Defense and the Interior, together with other subsidiary bodies. The second, for 15 million euros, covers the Ministries of Economy, Industry and Finance, and organizations such as ICEX, CIEMAT and MUFACE. The third, amounting to 14 million, covers Foreign Affairs, the Presidency, Education and Justice. Finally, the fourth lot, with a budget of 14.5 million, includes the travel of the Ministries of Agriculture, Employment and SS, Development and Health, in addition to agencies such as INJUVE or AEMET.
"I am convinced that this ésuccess is a direct consequence of many years of serious and effective work to have the best possible infrastructure, the most modern means and the most qualified staff", assures Juan José Hidalgo, president of the Globalia Group.
The contest that unifies the trips of the Administration will be decided in three main sections: the offer of air fares, valued with 60 points; the offer of hotel rates, valued at 30 points; and the technical offer, which would mean another 10 points to complete the 100.
From March 1 of this year and throughout 2015, Halcón will be in charge of the trips of the different departments of the Administration as the contracts with the previous awardees expire. The agency currently has 900 offices
