Great success of the 27th Avasa Travel Group convention, attended by more than 800 professionals
The 27th AVASA Convention exceeded all expectations by bringing together more than 800 professionals from the sector. Under the slogan “Connecting people, transforming travel”, Sitges hosted a weekend of presentations, successful experiences and networking to boost the future of travel agencies.
The 27th AVASA Travel Group Convention brought together this weekend at the Meliá Sitges hotel more than 800 professionals from the tourism sector, including agents, partners and collaborators, surpassing the attendance figures of previous editions. Under the slogan “Connecting people, transforming travel”, the meeting has highlighted the commitment of Avasa Travel Group for innovation, collaboration and continuous training of its partner agencies.
The first day of the convention, with Sergi Grimau as master of ceremonies, kicked off with a speech by &Aó ngel García Butragueño and Elena García Donoso, who offered an approach oriented to the emotional management of travelers and the transition of travel agencies towards the creation of new experiences.
Afterwards, the AVASA Agency Experiences were presented, a space that allowed four partner agencies to share the changes they have implemented in their businesses to adapt to market trends.
Before the midday break, Carlos López Bahillo, general manager of Avasa Travel Group, gave a global presentation on the results of the last year, highlighting the 1,057 million euros of turnover among all the associated agencies, and the objectives for the coming months. Abilio Álvarez, president of the group, accompanied by the board of directors, brought the morning to a close by inaugurating the convention.
In the afternoon, Maripaz Abad and Inés Aguinaliu addressed the most recent regulatory implications, focusing on RD 933/2021 and the importance of legal certainty. Next, Kike Fuentes offered guidelines to reduce stress and increase efficiency in the work environment through time management, while Inés Torremocha turned the auditorium upside down with his energy, highlighting how business intelligence can improve consultative selling skills. The day ended by highlighting the need for innovation and specialization as keys to agency growth.
The second day featured the traditional suppliers workshop, with more than 100 companies including destinations and suppliers presenting their innovations and strengthening relationships with partner agencies. After the group photo, and under the presentation of Víctor Parrado, who led the afternoon session with his humor and dynamism, it was the turn of Carlos López Bahillo, Marien Riera and Elisabet Carbó, who presented the new tools that Avasa has made available to its associated agencies in recent months with the aim of increasing their productivity and maximizing their profits.
The last presentation of the afternoon was by Néstor Guerra, an expert in innovation, who once again surprised all those present by showing how the company has been able to improve its productivity and maximize its profits; to surprise all those present by showing what the future holds in the field of artificial intelligence, and how agencies can take advantage of it for the personalization and optimization of tourism services. Finally, the event concluded with a gala dinner and live music, in an atmosphere conducive to strengthening ties and sharing impressions.
