Forum Business Travel, the leading continuing education platform for travel managers in Spain, has signed a cooperation agreement with Latin Press Inc. that represents a further step in the internationalization strategy of its services. The agreement will, among other things, promote professionalization.
The collaboration between Forum Business Travel and Latin Press Inc. opens a new field of interaction between travel managers and meeting planners;of Spain and Latin America which seeks to strengthen the corporate travel segment and provide more training opportunities for professionals in the sector. Through their communication channels and events, both entities will generate a new flow of knowledge and experience exchange on both sides of the Atlantic.
Forum Business Travel is developing a program of continuous training aimed at corporate travel managers with face-to-face sessions every two months in Madrid and Barcelona, as well as an information and networking platform supported by its online channels and social networks. In addition, FBT has launched the first official degree in Business Travel Management and International Events Management, together with the National University of Distance Education (UNED) and MPI Spain. The course, which begins next December, will be extended to Spanish-speaking students from Latin America.
Latin Press Inc, headquartered in Miami, maintains an active presence in the meetings tourism market with media outlets such as Latin Press magazine and the Latin American Meetings & Events magazine;n as the magazine “Gerencia de Viajes” or events such as ViajesCorp Américas, which held its last edition last May in Bogotá. By virtue of the agreement, Forum Business Travel will again be part of the Academic Committee in 2013.
For Óscar García, founding partner of Forum Business Travel, “the agreement with Latin Press represents an excellent gateway into the Latin American market to share know-how on business travel management. The globalized economy demands from travel managers more training every day and more knowledge of the keys and trends that appear in other countries, especially in the emerging economies of a continent to which we have so many ties”.
