These are the most sustainable means of transportation for business trips

Environmental care is an increasingly important factor when it comes to deciding what activities to do, and business travel is no exception. Proof of this is the report by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), which explains that a significant proportion of business travelers are increasingly open to the idea of choosing a sustainable means of transport.

Among some of the data collected in this report, 54% of Spanish business travelers would be willing to rent a smaller, more fuel-efficient car, and 84% of Germans would take public transport more frequently. • Electric buses and trams. Electric public transport, such as buses and trams, is a perfect option for getting around the city in a sustainable way. • Train. The train is a very sustainable option, especially in regions with efficient rail infrastructure. Electric trains are preferable, as they have a significantly lower carbon footprint than flights or automobiles.

• Electric cars. Electric cars are the perfect alternative for business travel when private transportation cannot be avoided. They emit zero greenhouse gases during use and are increasingly affordable.

• Carpooling. If you can't use an electric car and public transportation is not a viable option, remember that carpooling reduces the number of cars on the road, which lowers overall CO2 emissions per passenger. Using carpooling apps that promote efficiency and contribute to sustainable projects is a good option for these types of cases.

• Avión. Flights represent one of the largest sources of carbon emissions in business travel. However, they are often indispensable for international or long-haul travel. In this case, you can promote the sustainability of your travel with compensatory measures, such as purchasing carbon credits specifically for flights, supporting research and development of sustainable aviation fuels or opting for airlines committed to carbon footprint reduction.
