Workshops on Experiences in Event Organization
Mice in the Cloud has organized in Madrid and Barcelona its first Event Planning Experiences Workshops. These sessions, exclusively for meeting planners, offer a framework of practical ideas to leave boring events behind and move towards those that make an impact and are remembered.
On October 29th, the first workshop was held at the Hotel Ayre Colón in Madrid, with the participation of more than 50 event organizers from various business sectors.
The workshop began with an interview-debate on how to create an event policy and how to put it into practice by the companies. The technology and its impact on events was one of the topics that came up for discussion, especially the one oriented towards management.
The second activity was led by Chema Gómez, one of the co-founders of CocoA's company, to explain his specialty: Meetin Design, a tailor-made co-creation process where all the stakeholders involved count when it comes to generating the content and experience of an event.
The third part of the workshop dealt with “The 7 keys to a motivating and efficient meeting”. The “reunionitis” is a chronic evil that many companies suffer from and that affects the performance of their employees. Monika Suso, managing partner of the Institute of High Performance (IAR), found that “poorly managed meetings have a direct impact on productivity”.
He also stated that "raising awareness and training leaders to properly manage the company's human resources is essential to keep teams motivated and aligned on objectives. And furthermore, the meetings must last the minimum and essential time and the people summoned must be the necessary ones, all the "just in case" should be avoided.
The última part of the day had as protagonist to Diners Club Spain to draw attention to other aspects of the events, in this case the insurance coverage.
As a colophon, the workshop included a neuromeditation practice by Gonzalo Serra, a partner of the High Performance Institute. According to him, if we want to promote creativity and learning capacity, we must start by "resetting" our brains, which are overloaded with information, so that they can assimilate the new teachings.
On November 5, the workshop was replicated at the Hotel Ayre Gran Vía in Barcelona, with the attendance of more than 30 event organizers from various business sectors. The agenda of the meeting was similar to that of Madrid, except for the third activity, which focused on the concept of Engagement.Rosa Garriga, Communications Director at myQaa and consulting partner at Event ROI Institute, helped those present to understand its potential and how some tools can be used to engage the audience.
