UNWTO and Amadeus join forces to boost multimodal transport
Amadeus and the World Tourism Organization are joining forces to boost the use of the most innovative technologies in areas of the tourism sector such as education and multimodal transport.
The UNWTO and Amadeus, an affiliate member of the international organization since 2007, have signed a memorandum of understanding to consolidate their partnership in several areas.
The agreement includes the development of an UNWTO prototype on multimodality, i.e., travel planning and door-to-door ticketing with all possible transportation options, to further integrate different modes of transportation between destinations around the world.
Both entities will also collaborate on issues of sustainability, corporate social responsibility and education through Amadeus' participation in the Amadeus project;Amadeus' participation in the UNWTO pilot project Tourism Talent Development in the Travel & Tourism Sector and in various initiatives of the organization in the area of training.

UNWTO is keen to further intensify the relationship with Amadeus, a particularly valued Affiliate Member and a key player in this field, in order to strengthen the links between tourism and technology, according to UNWTO Secretary-General, Taleb Rifai.
