Travel managers concerned about data protection and mobile technology
A CWT survey indicates that data protection and mobile technology will be the dominant issues in 2015 for corporate travel managers. Participants also show an interest in the collaborative economy.
Carlson Wagonlit Travel's (CWT) annual travel manager survey indicates that data protection and mobile technology will have the greatest impact on travel programs in 2015.
The survey, which compiles responses from 1,100 travel managers, also addresses key trends such as the collaborative economy and the behavior of millennial travelers.
According to the survey, participants whose jurisdiction is global are of the opinion that Big Data or IATA's New Distribution Capability (NCD) will have the greatest impact on their travel programs.

When determining the impact on travel programs, travel managers in Asia-Pacific gave greater importance to low-cost carriers compared with those in other regions.
-Travel managers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa placed particular emphasis on corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a significant trend versus those in the other regions.
-In Latin America, travel managers favored the global economy, the political context and the collaborative economy as high-impact trends.
-Compared to other regions, travel managers in North America said mobile technology will have a decisive impact on their travel programs.
According to David Morán, executive vice president of global marketing and business strategy at CWT, this year saw a 9% increase in the number of responses, “giving us a broader view of the trends that will dominate our industry next year”.
The annual CWT Travel Manager Survey, October-November 2014, was conducted among travel and meetings and events professionals worldwide. The agency obtained a total of 1,113 responses from 515 companies in 56 countries.
