The average hotel bill of Spanish companies amounts to 271 euros per reservation.
Spanish companies spend an average of 271 euros per hotel booking, although, as is logical, with a large variation depending on the country of destination, according to a study conducted by HRS after analyzing their bookings. The average cost per night is 96.4 euros. The most expensive country is still the United States.
This year, the United States, with 541 € on average, is by far the country with the highest average hotel spend per booking. It is followed by Singapore (393 €) and United Arab Emirates (358 €). Italy (146 €), Spain (147 €) and Germany (147 €) are the countries with the lowest average basket of expenditure.
As for the number of overnight stays, the average stay in the main destinations is 2.99 nights.China (4.98 nights), Brazil (4.84) and Mexico (4.32) are the countries where Spanish business travelers spend the most time. In contrast,Germany (1.65 days), Switzerland (1.73 days) and France (1.73 days) record the shortest stays.
As for the average rate per hotel night booked, in 2016 it amounted to ?96.43 for Spanish companies. In Germany this rate (89.08 €) has increased by 5% compared to 2015, while in China (52.25 €) the ADR has decreased by about 5%.Spain also recorded an increase of 5%, to reach 81.92 euros/night.
October is the month of the year when Spanish companies travel the most for business purposes. After October, May and September are the months with the highest number of trips by Spanish executives.Finally, the Top 10 where Spanish companies book the most hotel nights is headed by the Chinese city of Canton, which last year ranked second, followed by Munich and Paris. By country,Germany continues to be the most visited for business purposes. In fact, its cities occupy six of the top ten positions: Munich (2ª), Frankfurt (4ª), Cologne (5ª), Berlin (7ª), Hamburg (8ª) and Stuttgart (9ª). As a national data, the ún only business destination that sneaks into the ránking is Barcelona.
HRS has studied the behavior of Spanish companies with respect to the hiring of hotels comparing data from 2016 (January-August) and 2015. With respect to seasonality, the comparison has been made between 2015 and 2014 in order to have information on a full year.
