Óscar García teaches MPI's seminars on psychology to motivate decisions

The founding partner of Forum  Business Travel Óscar García has been the protagonist of the últimas training sessions organized by the Spanish chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) in Madrid and Barcelona. Under the title "Behavioral Psychology to Motivate Decisions: How it Influences the Way We Buy and Sell”, García has provided some keys to understanding it.

In two sessions at the Meliá Princesa hotel in Madrid and Meliá Barcelona hotel in Barcelona, held on March 20 and 21, respectively, Ó scar Garcí a began his presentation by identifying the characteristics of the profound transformation of consumer habits: the democratization of information favored by social networks, the trend toward collaboration among consumers, the social business, or horizontal model of internal relations in companies, and the growing importance of values, beyond the product, in the purchasing process.

As FBT's partner pointed out to a large group of tourism professionals, most of them specialized in meetings, events and incentives, "technology is a condition for the success of the business;a is conditioning our lives, but not by itself, but by the innovative explosion that finds increasingly simple and imaginative answers to specific needs.

According to the introducer of the conference, Jesús María Gómez, president of MPI Spain, “understand and assimilate the new formulas that are emerging when it comes to the exchange of information;understanding and assimilating the new formulas that are emerging in the exchange of goods and services is critical for meetings and events professionals, both from the buyer's and seller's point of view,”

In this sense, one of the trends with the most momentum recently is crowdsourcing, i.e., open cooperation among a large group of people for a common project, of which Óscar García presented some examples through videos. This concept is also being extended to the field of consumption.

In a much more specific field, the speaker presented the theory of B.J. Frogg, one of the most important and influential figures in the field. Frogg, one of the great current scholars of human behavior, about the motivation, the capacity and detonator of decisions, in this case, applied to its influence on the way of buying and selling.

This presentation was useful for Óscar García to present practical cases in which attendees had to face the challenge of transforming a destination, an event agency or a meeting space with the goal of accessing a target audience using Frogg's behavioral psychology concepts.
