Business travelers can no longer travel without their mobile devices. According to a study conducted by Expedia Mobile for Egencia, its Business Travel division, 97% of those surveyed regularly travel with their smartphone, tablet, laptop, ebook or smartwatch.

The 79% of Spaniards consider their smartphone very important for their day-to-day life. The 75% answer the same about their laptop and the 47% about their tablet.

The study also notes that travelers are familiar with certain standards of behavior when it comes to mobile devices. Respect, being aware of the noise these devices make, and privacy are especially important. For example, Spanish respondents consider the following behaviors offensive in public: photographing or recording strangers (45%), making hands-free calls (32%), listening to music or playing games without headphones (32%), making calls in a restaurant (23%), or video conferencing (17%).

88% of Spanish frequent travelers say that the availability of Wi-Fi and its price influence their decision when booking a flight or hotel. The participants in the survey consider this service to be the main service that a hotel can have. This figure is two percentage points higher than the world average (86%).
