Air France and KLM receive 'Corresponsables' award for their Corporate SAF program
Air France-KLM received the award for its Corporate SAF program in the Large Company category at the XIII Corresponsables Awards gala held at the Aula Magna of the IESE Business School in Barcelona on November 15.
“Our goal is to increase the proportion of SAF we use more and more. We hope that this award will also be an incentive for all our customers to join the SAF Corporate program initiative. Because in sustainability we are all part of the solution," said Laurent Perrier, general manager of Air France-KLM for Spain and Portugal.
Air France-KLM's Corporate SAF program proposes that companies play an active role in the future of more environmentally friendly travel. With él, Air France and KLM corporate customers, after an estimate of the CO? emissions associated with their travel, can determine the annual contribution they wish to dedicate to such a program.
Customers can also contribute on a voluntary basis to the purchase of SAF by making a contribution through the websites of both companies.
Air France-KLM is committed to investing these contributions in the supply and use of sustainable aviation fuel.
By increasing demand, the group aims to play a role in developing the production chains needed to enable widespread adoption of sustainable fuel between now and 2030.
To date, companies such as Ficosa, Bestours o o have joined the Corporate SAF program in Spain;Icárion, as Airpharm Logistics and Acciona Forwarding in the cargo area.
AWARDS ‘CORRESPONSABLES’
In the XIII edition of the ‘Corresponsables’ Awards, more than 800 nominations were received from Spain and Latin America. Companies and organizations of all types and from different sectors from up to 16 countries submitted their proposals for these awards.
A Technical Committee made up of 29 expert CSR consultancy firms shortlisted a total of 88 finalist nominations. 24 organizations from different interest groups were finally awarded.
The gala, with more than 200 attendees, was broadcast via streaming, reaching more than 43,000 viewers and publications with the hashtag #XIIIPremiosCorresponsables exceeded 7.6 million impressions and 450,000 people reached.
In the Large Company category, in addition to Air France-KLM, were also awarded Henkel for its sustainable production centers;Grupo Calvo, for its loyalty program for artisanal fishermen in Brazil, and Moderna Alimentos, for its community development center, Ñukata Kuyay, Crecemos Juntos.
